 2021年の夏、私は建築士の資格継続に必要なOJT(オン・ザ・ジョブ・トレーニング)に登録しました。

“Just because you are struggling does not mean you are failing,” English priest and author Nicky Gumbel said. My year 2021 is a story about how I overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic and academic issues. There were difficulties, but I resolved them with the help of my support systems, which included my family, friends, and Enchild.

My father lost his work due to the pandemic at the start of the year 2021. We only received separation compensation from his company after he was dismissed. Fortunately, my sister did not lose her job. In terms of finances, she is now our family's primary supporter. At that exact moment, my laptop broke, which was a huge academic problem. I needed to get a new laptop to continue my studies so I asked my family to spend some of my father's separation pay, as well as all of the money I had saved from my monthly allowance in Enchild. Even though it meant making financial sacrifices, it was the only way I could continue my third year of architectural school.

During the summer of 2021, I enrolled in OJT 1 (on-the-job training 1), which is a requirement for continuing my architectural degree. I worked for a construction firm, but owing to the pandemic, it was held online. That's why the contract didn't include a salary. I never imagined myself completing OJT online, but it has already happened. Even though I learned a lot, it would have been better if it was done normally or face-to-face.

I am currently a fourth-year architecture student. Each year, it becomes more difficult. It is now more serious, a real issue. And everything in the actual world seems stressful. This year, I aspire to finish my fourth year of architecture school and begin my fifth and final year. There will still be many challenges ahead of me, but I love what I'm doing and know I'm supported.

Throughout the years, my family, friends, and Enchild have encouraged me to pursue my dream of being an architect and to live my life purposely. They are my financial, emotional, and mental support systems. I am proud to be an Enchild scholar because it benefits me in so many ways and motivates me to be my best. It was extremely important to me in getting through those years. Yes, there are many difficulties, but every great achievement requires some level of difficulty.
