　こんにちは、エンチャイルドの広報担当、地球村山歩です。

　昨日に続いて、5月21日に開催された日比オンライン交流会でのテーマ・スピーチをお届けします。

　
　「コロナ・パンデミックの体験と私たちの未来」をテーマにエンチャイルド奨学生たちに語ってもらいました。

　今回は、アンパロ市のクリスチャン・フェタリノ君（19歳、フィリピン工科大学電気工学専攻 2年）のスピーチを紹介します。

　通信環境の厳しい中での参加でしたが、素晴らしいスピーチを届けてくれました。

コロナ・パンデミックの体験と私たちの未来

　皆さん、こんにちは。
　私はアンパロハイスクール出身のクリスチャン・フェタリノです。

　20世紀最大の政治的、精神的指導者の一人であるマハトマ・ガンジーは、「未来はわれわれの現在の行動にかかっている」と言いました。
　彼によると、私たちの全ての決断が私たちの未来にさまざまな影響を与えることができるということです。

　私たちは、パンデミックを通じて個人の生活、学業、そして精神的に影響を受けました。

　パンデミックの最初の1年間は、感染が怖いので誰も外に出てはいけないということで、箱の中に閉じこもっている感じでした。その閉塞感から、厳しい時代には健康の維持や貯蓄が大切であることに気付かされました。
　
　私は体調管理に気を付け、健康的な食事を取り、生活必需品を買うためにお金を貯めています。
　今まで家族の誰もウイルスに感染することなく、生活必需品を買うことができるのは、正しいお金の使い方を学んだからです。

　オンライン授業は新しい常識となりました。学校の課題で低い点数を取ることが多く、私は落胆とストレスを感じていました。でも、エンチャイルドと大好きな人たちのサポートによって、私は今も目標に向かって前進しています。私は目標を追求し、忍耐強く挑戦し続けています。そういう自分自身を誇りに思います。

　全能なる神の導きなしには、全てはむなしいものになります。
　パンデミックの間、私はオンラインミサに参加し、神の言葉を学び、神に語りかけ続けています。苦境に立たされても前に進む力、希望を持つことができるのは、主なる神の力からきているのです。パンデミックの有無にかかわらず、神の導きがなければ、人生は難しいのです。

　皆さん、私たちの未来は、今置かれている状況ではなく、目の前にある試練にどう立ち向かい、前進していくかにかかっています。神との関係があれば、私たちの未来は決して無駄にはならないのです。

“My experience through the Corona Pandemic and Our Future”

　Good Afternoon everyone.
　I am Christian Fetalino from Amparo High School.

　“The Future depends on what we do in the present,” Mahatma Gandhi said, one of the twentieth century’s greatest political and spiritual leaders. According to him, every decision we make has different consequences and can affect what’s ahead of us.

　I believe that there are areas in our lives that were affected during the pandemic. Personally, Academically, and Spiritually.

　During the first year of the pandemic, I felt that I am stuck inside the box because no one of us should go outside because I am afraid to be infected. That feeling of being stuck in the house made me realize that health and savings are significant in challenging times. I am taking care of myself and eat a lot of healthy foods and save money for essentials and until now no one in our family got the virus and we can buy essential things because we learn how to spend our money correctly.

　Online classes is the new normal in education. I got a lot of low scores in my school tasks and I felt discourage and stress. I struggled to maintain my grades but with the help of EnChild and the people that I love, I am still here reaching for my goals. I keep on pursuing and persevering and it makes me proud of myself.

　Without the help of the Lord God Almighty, everything will be useless. During the pandemic, I keep on attending online mass, studying His Word, and talking to Him. Having a strength to move forward and being hopeful in times of struggles, comes from the Lord. With or without the pandemic, life is hard without the guidance of the Lord.

　Ladies and gentlemen, our future doesn’t depend on the current situation we are in but how we stand and move forward in trials a head of us. With our relationship with the Lord, our future is not in vain.
