BNI彩チャプタ―さんによるOKOME-Project

2021年5月22日（初日）

アンティポロ市、ケソン市バランガイ・タタロン、マニラ市T-Paez小学校とパローラ地域を訪問

　Today, I was literally able to work while traveling. Keano and I went to Antipolo, Barangay Tatalon and Manila area to deliver the support project-Okome from our associate BNI Sai chapter in Japan to Enchild students. I couldn't change my schedule today, so on our way, I had to work and finish my shift. God is very good as he allowed me to do so. In Antipolo, the parents even made a video message in Japanese language thinking that the our Japanese friends would like it and practiced it a few times. 

　今日は文字どおり、旅をしながら活動をすることができました。

　キアノ事務局長と私は、日本のエンチャイルドとその協力団体であるBNI彩チャプターからの支援プロジェクト「OKOME-Project」の精米をエンチャイルド奨学生たちに届けるために、アンティポロ市とケソン市のバランガイ・タタロン、そしてマニラ市の支援先を訪ねてきました。

　今日は仕事の予定を変更できなかったので、私は途中で勤務を終わらせ、天の計らいで活動に参加することができました。アンティポロでは、保護者の皆さんが日本語を練習し、日本語のメッセージを入れたビデオを寄せてくれました。

　It was really quick as we needed to proceed to the next area in Quezon City where we met Mark Daniel, Nicha, Trisha's mother and Alexandra. We were able to catch up with each other and talked about the previous study tours, hoping to meet again with their sponsors and their fellow student beneficiaries. After Tatalon, we went straight to T-Paez Elementary School where we met most of the parents, relatives of some students and our beneficiaries. Some students could not come due to their online class schedules and some were taking preliminary exams. When they saw the sacks of rice, I could see how happy and grateful they were, they were remembered and loved despite of the current situation we are all going through. It's been 4 years since we decided to extend Enchild to T-Paez Elementary School, I could remember.

　次はケソン市のバランガイ・タタロンに移動し、マーク・ダニエル君、ニカさん、トリーシャさんの母親とアレクサンドラさんと再会しました。お互いの近況を話したり、以前のスタディーツアーについて話したりしました。

　その後、私たちはT-Paez小学校に直行し、保護者の皆さんや親類、そしてエンチャイルド奨学生たちと会いました。
　奨学生の中には、現在行われているオンライン授業の都合で来られなかった人や、予備試験中の人もいました。

　彼らに精米を手渡すと、コロナ禍で困難な状況にもかかわらず、日本の支援者の皆さんが愛を贈ってくださったことをとても喜び、感謝していました。

　エンチャイルドの奨学金支援プログラムをT-Paez小学校の子どもたちにも拡大することを決めてからすでに4年がたったのだということを振り返りました。

　The last area we visited was Parola. It's where one of Enchild's earliest beneficiaries came from. We met at Erika Mahusay's house with other students, Alvin's mother, and Ma'am Leonor - our very supportive coordinator for more than a decade now. 

　私たちが最後に訪れたのはマニラ市トンド地区のパローラです。エンチャイルドの初期の受益者たちが住む地域です。
　エリカ・マフセイさんの家に、他の奨学生たち、アルビン君の母親、そして10年以上前から私たちを支えてくれているコーディネーターのレオノールさんが一緒に集まりました。

　The place is still exactly the same as before, but the students are growing and maturing. Since the beginning of Enchild, we have been doing great things together in supporting the students and making relationship with their families, teachers and our coordinators. It's amazing to see that even though nothing may seems like changing in our environment but we keep on moving forward and eventually when we look back, we will realize that we have done and experienced many wonderful things. Sometimes we are not the first to see these changes, but the people we touch and appreciate our efforts could show it.

　場所は以前と全く変わっていませんでしたが、奨学生たちは成長し、成熟していました。エンチャイルドによる支援が始まって以来、私たちは児童・生徒たちをサポートし、家族や先生がた、コーディネーターの皆さんとの関係を築きながら、共に素晴らしい歴史をつくってきました。

　
　環境は何も変わっていないように見えるかもしれませんが、私たちは前進し続け、やがて振り返ったときに、私たちが多くの素晴らしいことをし、経験してきたことに気付くのです。その変化に気付くのは、時に私たちではなく、私たちが触れ、私たちの努力に感謝してくれる人々がそれを示してくれるのかもしれません。

　オンラインですが、エンチャイルド奨学生たちと直接交流できる機会です。
