　「フィリピン人ってどんな人たち？」の4回目、最終回です。

　今回は、「❷ホスピタリティ精神が高い」「❸家族をものすごく大切にする」にコメントします。

❷ホスピタリティ精神が高い

　「ホスピタリティ」の語源はラテン語の「hospitālis（お客さまの保護）」といわれています。ここでも「ラテン系」が登場です。

　しかしここで挙げられている「ホスピタリティ精神」は、単純にホスピタリティ＝サービス精神のことを指しているものではないでしょう。人に対する思いやりや親切心、寄り添おうとする心を指しているのだと思います。

　実際、山歩が体験してきたフィリピン人の「ホスピタリティ」といわれるものからは、そのような心の世界を強く感じてきました。それはフィリピンの人々の感性であり、価値観なのだと思います。

　「明るくフレンドリー」なフィリピン人の特徴は、ホスピタリティ精神をより良いものにしている要素でもあります。

　ここにおいても、「ラテン系」の一言では説明できない、長い苦難の歴史の中で育まれてきた「笑顔」であり、「思いやり」なのではないかと感じます。

　多くのフィリピンのかたと接してみて、山歩も同様の印象を持っています。特に、子どもたちの篤実な信仰心や、強い親孝行の心、家族を愛する情の深さには驚かされます。それは、本ブログで掲載されているエンチャイルド奨学生たちの「抱負メッセージ」からもよく分かりますね。

　エンチャイルド奨学生たちの発する言葉からは、親のために、家族のために生きている、勉強している、働いているのだという強い心が伝わってきます。

　「核家族」という言葉があります。「夫婦のみ」「夫婦と未婚の子供」「父親また母親とその未婚の子供」の世帯を指した表現です。その対になる言葉が「大家族」「拡大家族」です。

　いずれの国々も、経済発展と共に、核家族の多い社会に移行していく傾向があります。フィリピンにおいても将来はそうなっていくだろうと想像しますし、そういう傾向はすでにあるのかもしれません。

　しかし「エンチャイルド・ファミリー」という言葉には、間違いなくフィリピンの大家族、拡大家族に通じる心情が流れています。家族愛からの支援を100％真正面から受け取ってくれていることもうれしいことです。

　家族を大切にする。これは人間が人間らしくあるための愛の原理なのだと思えてなりません。

　「クリスマス・プロジェクト」は、支援者の皆さまとエンチャイルド奨学生、現地スタッフが共に取り組む、社会課題解決型の奉仕プロジェクトです。
　奨学生たちがチームを編成し、自ら企画したプロジェクトを実施します。チームごとに自主的に社会課題を見いだし、その課題を解決するためのプロジェクトに挑戦します。
　
　プロジェクトは、12月～1月に実施される予定です。2025年2月～3月には、各プロジェクトの成果を共有する報告会をオンライン（公開）で実施いたしますので、ぜひご参加ください！
　
　プロジェクトに必要な予算は日本側で応援します。なお、ご支援の募集期間を12月25日まで延長いたしました。応援のほど、何卒よろしくお願い申し上げます。

　ボランティアスタッフのともみんです。久しぶりの更新となりました。

　行事、用事、行事、合間に休憩を取るつもりがまた用事…あっという間に1日、1週間が過ぎてしまいます…が、そんな中、とっても簡単に作れるフィリピン料理を発見しました！！

　その料理とは「パラボック」！！

　この作り方は私独自のレシピなので現地の人から「こんなのパラボックじゃないよ」とお叱りを受けるかもですが、これがMy Styleなのです！！

　味も納得だし、包丁はゆで卵を切るときだけという楽さもあり…笑。本当に簡単なので、ぜひお試しあれ。

　初めに、私の国、特に私の地域、ミンダナオ北東部のカラガ地域における最新情報をお伝えします。

　Good day everyone. Before anything else, let me share to you some important updates in my country and most specifically in my region - the CARAGA Region.

1) well, we know already that Philippines is not as reach as Japan. And it's labeled even as one of the third world countries. Specially Referring to its economy. 

　In my region, the economy of CARAGA expanded by 4.9 percent in 2023. It was estimated at 339. 7 billion pesos in 2023, from 323.9 billion pesos in 2022. In terms of economic growth, the region ranked 12th among the 17 regions in the country. CARAGA's economy is predominantly services - based. It's also noted for its wood-based economy and its extensive water resources, rich mineral deposits such as iron, gold, silver, nickel, chromite, manganese and copper. Its leading crops are rice, banana and coconut.

　The region has also common natural hazards weather related like floods, landslides, drought, typhoons, storm surges, with people's vulnerability and exposure exacerbated by environmental degradation and conflict.

2) With regards to ENCHILD's activities in 2023 and my impressions on it, 

*We have scheduled ENCHILD beneficiaries’ visitations where we talked about ENCHILD's principles and teachings. Like our life achievements are not only for personal satisfaction but also for those who are in need. In short, helping each other for personal independence.

　ブログ【1510】で2月18日にフィリピン・リサール工科大学（RTU）で行われた日比文化交流イベントの様子をお伝えしました。

　今日はそのイベントに参加したフィリピン青年の感想をお届けします。
　カロオカン市のエンチャイルド奨学生のグレア・ガミスさんです。

　こんにちは、エンチャイルド広報担当、地球村山歩です。

　前々回のブログ【1510】で2月18日にフィリピン・リサール工科大学（RTU）で行われた日比文化交流イベントの様子をお伝えしました。

　今日はそのイベントに参加したフィリピン青年の感想をお届けします。
　エンチャイルド奨学生のガブリエル・バラネ君です。

　スナガ・ホールというRTUの会場に入ると、フィリピンの伝統的な衣装を着た「ヒミグ・リザリア」と「クルトゥーラ・リザリア」のメンバーがすぐに見えました。イベントのセットアップも素晴らしかったです。

　プログラムが始まると、彼らは素晴らしいパフォーマンスを披露してくれました。カモメの動きに似た動きをする「ラペイ・バンティーグ」という伝統的な踊りも教えてもらいました。

　また、「アウト・クラウド」の皆さんは私たちに人気のダンスを教えてくれて、グループを超えて一緒に踊る機会もありました。私たちはこれまで日本の皆さんと頻繁に交流してきたからかもしれません。RTUの学生たちも活発でエネルギッシュでしたけれども、日本の皆さんと踊る機会が多かったです。

　また、私の仲間の奨学生であるグレアさん、ディバインさん、マリルさん、アルビン君も積極的にプログラムに参加していました。

　エンチャイルドがこれからも有意義なプログラムを企画してくださることを願っています。

REFLECTION

　When Kuya Keano told me that there will be an upcoming event at RTU, I quickly accepted the invitation because I wanted to make up for the times that I was inactive. At first, I was surprised as I found out that instead of the sponsors, Japanese youth dancers would be the ones attending. I thought I would not be able to socialize well because everyone was new to me because there were also students from the junior and senior high school of RTU who joined. 　　

　When I entered the Snagah Hall, I saw right away the members of "Himig Rizalia" and "Kultura Rizalia," dressed in traditional Filipino attire and the set up for the event was nice. As the event started, they gave excellent performances. They even taught us a traditional dance called "Lapay Bantigue," where the movements are similar to those of a seagull. On the other hand, we also got acquainted with the group "Out Cloud" which consists of talented young Japanese dancers. Their parents were there, and they all even tried to taste the Filipino street foods Kwek-Kwek and Dirty Ice Cream. They also taught us a popular dance from their country, and we were given a chance to dance it instead of by group. I noticed how active and energetic the RTU students were, and we could not even match it. It might have been because we were often interacting with Japanese people, while they were meeting Japanese rarely. 

　To sum it all up, this cultural exchange event turned out to be fun as we had the opportunity to meet new people and learn many things from their culture. I am incredibly grateful to Sir. Ryan Tupaz, Ate Alma, and the returning Kuya Sam because they were there to guide us. Also, my fellow beneficiaries Glea, Divine, Maryll, and Alvin were there actively participating in the program. I hope that ENCHILD will continue its partnerships to organize more meaningful programs like these.

　The activity began with a welcome dance by KULTURA RIZALIA, followed by a moving doxology performance by Himig Rizalia. I got teary-eyed while listening to their heartfelt rendition of "Still," which included Japanese lyrics. It was a truly beautiful moment.

　When the Japanese National Anthem was sung by one of the students from RTU, it really struck a chord. I was surprised, amazed, and filled with excitement all at once. From a distance, I could sense the students' eagerness to meet all the members of Out Cloud Japan. 

　After the messages from Sir Mark and Sir Ryann, and the introductions, they had the chance to interact with each other. During this time, the students made an effort to engage in conversations with everyone. The RTU students brought a lot of energy to that day, making it even more enjoyable.

　My personal goal for this activity was to create new friendships and make it a memorable experience, and I believe we succeeded. Although I didn't have many conversations with the Out Cloud members and only remembered two names, Sayako and Haruna, this activity left a meaningful impact on everyone.

　I'm grateful and I must say that I really enjoyed working with all the professors at RTU, especially with Sir Don and Sir Mark. They were all professionals, and there was a strong sense of mutual respect among everyone involved.

　The Magallanes Enchild beneficiaries which composed of barangay Buhang, barangay Sto. Nino, Magallanes North, and barangay Dahican were given each specific time for the said meeting.

　In general, the meeting was very successful as shown by the reaction and excitement they felt during the conversation. The beneficiaries were very much grateful for their SPONSORS and all the ENCHILD SUPPORTERS.

　終了後、奥平代表からは「式典の流れの確認など、大まかなところは理解し合えましたのでとても安心しました。何よりも、現地に行く前に日本チームとフィリピンスタッフの皆さんとの顔合わせができたことが良かったと思います」とミーティングの感想が寄せられました。
